I was looking for somewhere to immerse myself in fitness, nutrition and all around health and wellness, and Unite ticked all the boxes. The afternoon hikes were particularly appealing because I knew no matter how tired I was from a morning workout, I would still do an afternoon hike in the mountains. My two weeks at Unite were fantastic, and I plan to go back annually. The meals were delicious, with recipes available in the Unite app and a cooking class with Chef Matt every Wednesday afternoon. Other lunch sessions included a nutritionist, a life coach, or just information on protein or how to successfully return home and maintain your progress. Mornings are typically spent at a very nice gym with quality equipment. Cardio is always part of the morning, but there is also flexibility and mobility, warm ups, weight training and other activities. Fridays are the Capital Hill Challenge, a timed mile walk that is mostly uphill. After lunch, there is a nice staff-accompanied hike or walk, usually on a trail if weather permits. There is usually a 90 minute window, so participants walk for about 45 minutes and then turn around to return to the starting point. Saturday mornings also include a hike, for generally about 3 hours, and then lunch at a local restaurant so participants can practice making healthy menu selections (and the price is covered by Unite). Prior to dinner there are a couple of sessions that may include yoga, foam rolling, flexibly/mobility stretching, and sound bath. The staff is very supportive and encouraging. In Body assessments are done early on the first Monday morning after arrival, and then every week for the stay. The Lofts East accomodations have a rooftop pool, hot tub and fire pit. It's accessible to guests staying at the Lofts West via a key fob. The Lofts West also have a private entrance on the back side of the Unite building, and an elevator that only goes to the 6th floor (where all the loft apartments are located). Each apartment has a full sized washer and dryer, plus a full kitchen including dishwasher. There is also some fitness equipment (yoga mat, foam roller, etc) in each apartment, and DirecTV. The Delta Center is directly across the street, and at the end of the block is the Clark Planetarium, and Imax Theater. The Trax Green line runs about a 20 minute ride from the airport to the Delta Center station, and the Trax blue line has a stop in front of the Planetarium, making it easy to get around. A couple blocks away is the 2002 SLC Olympic Park, and there is also a Comedy Club and some other things to do within easy walking distance of Unite. SLC is a very walkable city, and the Trax I a great way to get around cheaply.
I just finished my third visit to Unite and this one proved to be as helpful as the first. The staff and program have successfully changed my attitude toward food and exercise. They cannot recommend it more highly. EDIT: I recently learned that my two favorite trainers with whom I worked the most have left. I hope the quality at Unite remains high. It was so transformative for me
So glad that I made the investment in myself to go to such a fine place like Unite! Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The people made the experience feel like home. Shout out to Matt W. Larid, Ashley, Shelby, Jeremy, Ella & The amazing Chef’s!!!! I hope I’m not leaving anyone out because they all provided such an amazing experience for me. I stayed for 3 weeks and the lofts felt like home. The apartments/room whatever you want to call it had a nice and cozy living room, washer & dryer, full kitchen etc…. The program was really informative from an educational perspective and I left thinking differently. No doubt this trip will add years if not decades to my life because the way it changed the way I think. I just booked to go back for another reset next year! I didn’t look at this as a cost. I looked at this as an investment into myself. I’m happy to invest into myself! Thank you Unite & Team! Jay
I met people as young as 22 and as old as 65. And the most beautiful thing was, everyone there was fighting to live. Not just any kind of life, but a life worth living. This was the best gift I could give myself. It was hard as hell, but the best part was proving to myself that I can do hard things. There's gruesome workouts. Long ass hikes. So much yoga. And my favorite part, connecting with others that shared their most authentic selves with me. That, I will cherish for the rest of my life.
I visited for three days in August 2025. I live nearby, and decided to try a short visit to see how I Iike the program, and could keep up. There were 11 guest when I visited. I enjoyed my visit, and will plan another. The gym is well equipped, and during the gym sessions there were 3 trainers for 11 guests. They trainers were very good about adjusting the level of exercise to the ability of the guest. The afternoon hikes were in cool areas, on trails with a lot of shade, for protection from the summer heat. The hikes I went on were alll out and back hikes. That allowed the fastest hikers to go farther, then turn around at the same time as the slowest, and everybody got back to the vans at about the same time. The hikes all had at least 2 guides, one staying with the fastest hikers, the other with the slowest. I liked that for safety. There loaner poles, and sun screen in the vans. The meals were high protein and tasted very good. The chefs explained how the meals were cooked. I stayed in the Courtyard Marriott which is one of the lodging choices. It was fine. My room was quiet, and I slept well. There were a couple of lectures while I was there, about healthy food choices, and how to make changes in one’s health habits. There were also two evening classes each day, on yoga, stretching, foam rolling, and other. Those classes left me a little bit more limber. I thought that the staff were excellent, and am looking forward to my next visit. It certainly looked to me like both the fittest and the slowest guests were being well accommodated.
