We came because we enjoy learning about the human side of our presidents, and so it's always interesting to see the location and size of the house where someone lived. On the other hand, unless you are there when it's open, there is very little information available. We came on a late April weekend that was supposed special celebration of Grant, but nothing was open.
Our tour with Nancy was excellent! We very much enjoyed getting to know about Grant's history and family, as well as Nancy's history growing up close to the site. It was great to hear about how hard local people have worked to preserve this part of our history.
Excellent experience. The home was closed until April but Nancy came and let us in and gave an excellent description of the house and history. She is very knowledgeable. Donations are about $5.
Tania was a great guide! Great place to visit.
