Excellent service
iLearn is the best charter school one can attend in New Jersey. Thanks to several of my former teachers, my reading, writing, and math excelled beyond what I thought I could achieve. However, I have noticed some misguided criticism on here, much of which seems to be written by students who misunderstand the broader context of education today. I have attended public, private, and charter schools, and can confidently say that iLearn provided the most rigorous education experience, despite the unprecedented challenges of the COVID pandemic. Some people complain about the education, especially during the COVID time, yet these assertions completely disregard the global reality at the time. The world was forced to adapt to a crises that disrupted every aspect of daily life. Families lost income, millions confined indoors, some left homeless, and entire institutions were compelled to reinvent themselves within days if not weeks. To blame or fault educators for this is the same as ignoring the scale of the crisis at hand and the resilience it demanded. The success of education today, in a digital, post-pandemic era, has shifted increasingly on a student's capacity for self-discipline and self-directed learning. This shift isn't unique to iLearn, rather symptomatic of a nationwide transformation in how knowledge is pursued and attained. However, the cultural landscape of modern-day social media promotes consumerism, the idea of instant gratification, the idea that everything comes easy, and intellectual complacency, which are very conditions that grow students disillusioned and apathetic towards the persistence and curiosity that real learning requires. Unfortunately, this also goes hand in hand with the devaluation of teaching in our nation, and it has only deepened this crisis. The demands on educators don't align with the compensation and the recognition they receive which naturally deter many from staying or entering the field completely. Conflating systemic educational decline with iLearn is nothing but a misjudgment. iLearn offered nothing but structure and opportunities to flourish as a student, provided that students were willing to take responsibility for their learning. The issue isn't the school, it is in a culture that increasingly prizes convivence over effort and criticism over understanding.
