Why are you reading this review and not training here?!??! Seriously. If you're anywhere near Carson City and you're not sharpening your skills at Wild West Training Center, you're missing out on one of the most transformative combative sports gyms around. As someone who’s taught kids Muay Thai and actively trained in BJJ, Wing Chung, and MMA, I don’t say this lightly: every time I walk into WWTC, I walk out better... Coach Kurt and his team are geniune, patient, kind, engaging, and absolutely formidable. They don’t just teach; they elevate. The combos taught are clean, rhythmic, and intuitive. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned fighter, the flow and training makes sense and feels natural. I love this gym and the folks that attend it. What can I say, it's a place where humility meets grit. If you want to train somewhere that respects this disclipline, builds strength, and you — this is it. Hands down!!
Walking into a gym with no experience can be intimidating but Coach Kurt and the team make you feel welcome right away. Coaches Zephery and Zenon also know what they’re doing and are there whenever you need help. Now I only wish I had joined sooner. Would recommend
My son has been in the muay thai classes for couple months now. The teacher is very patient and focuses on the kids learning. He not only teaches them muay thai techniques but also teaches them to respectful and attentive while in class. Would highly recommend to anyone
Wild West Training Center provides a top tier experience for all ages! My son, Noe, does Jiu Jitsu classes and I can honestly say all kids should have martial arts experience. It has been incredible to watch him go from a shy, timid kid to being bolder, more confident, and developing at not just Jiu Jitsu but as a young man. Coach Kurt provides a great class that is structured, promotes respect and responsibility, teamwork and strong Jiu Jitsu technique. Noe is always ready to go to class, our first sport where he’s never said “I don’t want to go today”. They provide such a great value for the time and quality of instruction, I highly recommend giving Wild West a try. You may just find your new gym family.
The gym has a very friendly vibe as soon as you walk in. Our head Coach Kurt Brooks is one of the nicest people I've ever met with an amazing attention to detail. All the equipment is kept clean and maintained. I would recommend Wild West Training Center to anyone who even has a little intrest in self defense or fitness in general. Been going consistently after all these years and this review is still just as accurate, thanks again coach and the WWTC team!
