Visited the Great Bend Club 1 Fitness on April 6, 2026. My mother, who does not speak English fluently, was treated rudely by General Manager Chris Berger while using the restroom near closing time, even though other members were also using the facilities. When my father spoke up, he was told we could go anywhere else if we didn’t like it. The behavior felt discriminatory and unprofessional. I understand you want to support your staff, but your response does not reflect what actually occurred. On April 6, 2026 at approximately 8:08 PM, other members were still present and using the restroom as well. My mother was not alone and was not abusing the facility. Furthermore, there were no signs indicating any rules about restroom use, and my mother does not speak English, so she could not have understood any instructions you claim to have given. The main concern is the way she was spoken to. She was addressed in a rude and disrespectful tone, and when my father calmly asked for respect, he was told that you did not care and that we could go somewhere else if we did not like it. Regardless of policy, all members should be treated with respect. This situation felt unfair and discriminatory, and we hope it is taken seriously moving forward.
I don’t recommend this place for several reasons. Front desk staff is not friendly and the “manager” needs some schooling on manners. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Also the daycare there has had 6 staff changes in the last two months …. If that’s not a red flag on how things are run there idk what is.
I was in town for my kids ball tournament and had a lengthy break between games so planned on getting in a workout. Front desk staff was kind and accommodating, I enjoyed a great workout and nice locker room facilities. The club was very clean and welcoming!
On day that dues were to be pulled out they weren’t. Got to the gym and fixed it with same charged and got returned payment fee added on. Rubbed me the wrong way when the card I gave for initial sign up is same card I used today and the payment was taken no problems yet they got their fee.
