At first it seemed great. We toured and everything. After filling out the application form and turning it in, the lady that was in charge of processing my application suddenly turned extremely bitter and unresponsive. I submitted everything like she had asked but told me that they do not have any space for my child (which could be or not be true). Chicago Public Schools kept on matching me with this particular daycare and I do not know why they would do that if there are no spots available. First the lady told me that I need a qualifying activity to be able to apply. I told her that I loved that that was a rule, because I myself am a big supporter of receiving federal funding on the contingency of either working or being in school. I asked her about qualifying for an “activity search”, which she said that they discontinued. I have short term memory loss from a traumatic brain injury that I sustained about 13 years ago and sometimes I will ask the same question twice and I did this with her which I think got her really mad because after I sent in my qualifying activity (my school schedule) she stopped accepting my phone calls and responding to my emails.

I have had the pleasure of sending my daughter to Lakeshore Schools (Andersonville Location) since she was 6 months old. The staff at this location goes above and beyond to make learning hands on, developmentally appropriate, and ensure a safe environment for all. They have exceptional communication and will go above and beyond to make sure parents can trust, feel heard and respected at all times. Lakeshore does a great job of building strong community relationships with weekend/weekday activities for families! They also incorporates music into the curriculum with Mr. Ray. This has been an amazing experience for my daughter! He allows students to experience fine/gross motor skills through dancing, exposes vocabulary and makes music so fun for the kids even babies! My daughter adores him! I would recommend this day care to any and all families! P.S -- I am a parent that trusts very little people with my child. So this review says a lot! :)

My daughter Natalia absolutely loves her music class with Mr. Ray! He has a wonderful way of connecting with the kids—patient, upbeat, and genuinely passionate about teaching. I’ve seen Natalia come home excited to sing new songs and show me everything she learned. Mr. Ray creates such a fun and positive environment, and it’s clear he truly cares about each child’s growth and confidence. We’re so grateful for the joy he brings to the classroom every week! Highly recommend!

I’m so grateful for how responsive and supportive the Lakeshore team has been. They went above and beyond to get my daughter enrolled quickly and made sure the process worked for our family. Anytime I had concerns, they addressed them promptly and found thoughtful solutions that worked for both the daycare and admin team. As a graduate student studying Early Childhood Education, they even welcomed me to intern on-site, which meant the world to me. I felt genuinely embraced by their staff from day one. Communication is consistent and thorough, especially through the Tadpoles app, and I love how committed they are to keeping parents engaged and connected. Their dedication to community outreach, parent involvement, and supporting both children and families shines through in everything they do. We feel truly cared for here.
