Every GREAT business starts with dream! Joining Pu’u Muay Thai Santa Barbara was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I knew nothing about Muay Thai and starting from ground zero as an adult was extremely intimidating. When I mustered up the courage to take my first class Coach Ryan and the team embraced me as one of their own. Of course internally I still felt like a beginner and I knew in my skill set it showed. Those internal thoughts quickly faded when all I can could hear (not only from the coaches, but the team) was “Good job!”, “There it is”, “Keep going”, “You’ll be hear tomorrow right?!”. I respect everything about the history of this sport and respect those who came before me, but there is nothing that compares to the community and camaraderie that is evidently seen when you walk into this facility. I could rave about the top tier equipment/resources that are readily accessible to the fighters, or how clean the facility is, or even how fun classes are. But nothing compares to the family that you’ll be apart of once you join. As a single mom there where a few times I had to bring my son to class, not only was he able to FALL ASLEEP during my class he didn’t want to leave bc of how at home he felt. I say all that to say how honored I am to be apart of the Pu’u Muay Thai community in Santa Barbara. Coach Ryan and his beautiful family have created a family friendly environment that is welcoming, respectable, and a safe space. Coach Ryan and his family have and continue to put their heart and soul into what they do and it shows! Take one class and you’ll know what I am talking about! Thank you Pu’u Muay Thai for all you do! I SEE YOU! Sawadee kha!

I was in town on vacation and decided to take a class here at Pu’u Muay Thai and I had an amazing experience! I’ve been training 6x a week for a little over a year now and this was one of my favorite gyms I’ve ever trained at. The coach was very knowledgeable and helped me with some of my kicking techniques and even pulled me aside for some one on one pad work, my partner for the class was awesome and everyone in the gym was very friendly. I seriously can not recommend this place enough so if you’re in town on vacation or a local living in the area you too should take a class

Best gym ever! I can't recommend this place enough. Sadly I could only train here for about 5 months but in that short time I learned so much and saw a lot of change in my body 💪 The coaches have an incredible eye for detail and know how to push their students to improve without it being too much. Because the classes are small, the coaches give individual advice which really helps, especially for beginners. The atmosphere in the gym is great, too, everyone is really encouraging and people cheer each other on, no matter if they've been training for a month or 10 years. Even though I was only there for a short time, the gym almost felt like a family (in a good way 😅) and I made some great friends. Also, the gym is much cleaner than other Muay Thai gyms I've been to. Lastly, I loved that you don't have to book the classes in advance, there are so many different ones each day, and you can combine the classes to make your own schedule so it was very easy for me to fit a lot of training into my week. Overall, awesome experience, and I highly recommend giving it a try!
