About St. Xavier's School
“Be the Change” exhorts students to make brave decisions, act with compassion, and have faith in their aspirations. Every effort contributes to the development of a better, more robust, and lively school environment—whether it be by upholding good manners, demonstrating respect, lending a hand to a classmate, or taking initiative. Let us proceed with empathy, unity, and purpose, demonstrating via our deeds that change is something we become rather than something we wait for.
St. Francis Xavier, born on April 7, 1506, at Xavier Castle near Sangüesa in Navarre, Spain, emerged as one of the foremost Roman Catholic missionaries of his era. Co-founding the Society of Jesus with St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1534, Xavier embarked on a life dedicated to spreading Christianity across distant lands. His missionary journeys were instrumental in establishing vibrant Christian communities in India, the Malay Archipelago, and Japan, often enduring hardships and language barriers. Canonized on March 12, 1622, Xavier's feast day on December 3 honors his enduring legacy of faith and service. His early education at Xavier and theological studies in Paris shaped his devout commitment to poverty, celibacy, and the evangelization of both believers and non-believers.
Following the values of Jesus Christ and the spirituality of St Ignatius of Loyola, St Xavier's School aims at forming the young to be men and women for others and promote the emergence of a humane and egalitarian Indian society. "There are two types of education - one that teaches you how to make a living and other that teaches you how to live." The aim of education at Xavier's is to focus more on the formation of the youth rather than just imparting knowledge. In a world that is getting more and more bankrupt on basic human values, Xaverians are trained to become better human beings. The school inculcates the qualities of a passion for excellence, desire for freedom, courage, confidence, spirit of inquisitiveness etc. in its students. Education at Xavier's transcends the boundaries of the classrooms. The four walls of the classroom and what happens there do not only define education. The teachers as well as students are infused with a rare passion much like that of our patron saint and the Founder of the Society of Jesus- St. Francis Xavier and St. Ignatius of Loyola respectively. Without being overtly spoken about these great Saints have found their way into the life blood of every Xaverian and teacher alike.
Drawing inspiration from Jesus Christ and led by Ignatian legacy, St Xavier's School form our students to become young men and women of integrity through academic excellence, spiritual growth, social commitment and value based leadership.
To develop an attitude of openness in each student : to enable him/her to grow and begin to take up responsibility for his/her own growth.
